AFP Fellowship in Inclusion & Philanthropy Announcement

Call for Participants in Canada: Share your Diversity Story!

One of our AFP Inclusion and Philanthropy Fellows is currently seeking participants for an exciting digital media project that will share the stories of non-profit and charitable sector employees who are from diverse backgrounds or communities.

Whether it is race, religion, gender, disability, mental health or any other visible or non-visible element of diversity – this project will focus on the importance of a broad spectrum of diversity, and how we can move closer to inclusion in the charitable sector. If you work at a non-profit or charitable organization and want to share how your experience with diversity has shaped your work in the sector – we want to hear from you!

How To Enter

Submit a photo of yourself and a quote (of 100 words or less), and you will be featured on “Faces of Philanthropy” – a website that will launch this fall. Your quote submission can highlight any of the following:

  1. Why you decided to work in the non-profit and charitable sector.
  2. How your own diverse experience has shaped the work that you do.
  3. What impact you hope to have in building a more inclusive society.

Participants of all ages and diverse backgrounds who are currently working in the non-profit or charitable sector in Canada are encouraged to participate. Submissions are due by Friday, November 11 at 5pm EST.

Submitting Your Entry

If you are interested in participating, please contact the project manager – Amy Soden – at [email protected]

Amy is taking submissions online via email and is also happy to meet participants in the Greater Toronto Area in-person to take their photo and work with them on crafting their personal quote.

Please note: This project is formally supported and will be promoted by the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy Canada’s Fellowship in Inclusion & Philanthropy program.
